Most modern cars utilize Transponder technology
as a locking system and immobilizer. Transponders
themselves are not new. They are used in many situations
including E-Toll passes and as keys for electronic locks.
A transponder is an automatic device that receives, amplifies,
and retransmits a signal on a different frequency. The
transponder is located in the head of your key. Usually
you would not even know it is there.
These transponders have to be programmed precisely to ensure
that your car will start. If your car receives a wrong
signal, then it will not run. |
